As a stay at home mom, I get together with other moms often and sometimes come home feeling deflated and inadequate. You know those moms that count the grams of sugar in everything before it is consumed by their kid, or they breast feed until their kid is 3, or they have a contraption for every. Single. Thing. Like who knew you needed to put a water guard on your kids head in the tub so that the water doesn’t splash in their eyes? And no, I do not cut the crust off a peanut and butter jelly sandwich….because that is like the gateway to mommy insanity. What’s next, sandwiches cut into the shape of mermaids? And then where do you go from there? There’s no end to that cycle.
Now hold on, because if you ARE one of those moms that does all of that incredible stuff, please understand. I’m not here to hate on you. I think every mom should mother in their own way. No mom is superior because they do or don’t cut stars into their child’s pbjs or they do or don’t monogram every. Single. cloth item that belongs to their child. I’m just looking for a balance and I want to share some of the fast tips for mommying with moderation. Repeat after me, IT. DOESN’T. HAVE. TO.BE.PERFECT. TO.BE. WONDERFUL.
