So you are not 25 anymore. Your weight is up 10 pounds. You have a muffin top. Prefer yoga pants. Maybe you have a long flat butt too? That does not mean that you have lost your "cool jeans" card, or that you have any excuse to purchase a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans sight-unseen from Costco simply because they pull on like a pair of old-lady-in-a-nursing-home stretch pants. You have no excuse to not feel like a million bucks in your jeans ladies. Stop settling! These days you can get jeans that are literally as comfy and stretchy as yoga pants. These are my favorite denim styles right now. 1. The Super High Waist Jorts size 10- Yes, the tag is still on because I took these pics as soon as they arrived in the mail. They are from EXPRESS. They have a 70s vibe to them and are cut offs, yet somehow still kind of classy-casual, You definitely need to wear them with a fitted top that is tucked in. The belt is removeable. They've got your muffin top MORE THAN covered, as well as accentuate your waist. High waisted jeans are your friend ladies. Now, my husband laughed out loud at me when I came downstairs in them, but I don't count his opinion when it comes to being trendy. Definitely worth a shot if you're looking for a denim trend to try! 2. High Waist Distressed stretch skinny LOFT jeans size 10- These jeans are EVERY-THANG! They are a must-have staple in your closet right now. Even my husband likes them on me, and he hates trendy high waisted mom jeans! They are soft, stretchy, cover the muffin top, and are super versatile. Whether you are wearing them to a Saturday game, or date night out, they keep you looking effortlessly on trend. I've paired them with an off-the-shoulder eyelet top from Francesca's as well a retro color block tee and a basic black tank (both from GAP). I was afraid to do the high waist skinny jeans thing once upon a time too y'all, but after I experienced this pair, I was completely sold. BONUS, they are super washer and dryer friendly!! *Striped belt from Talbots 3. Step Hem Dark Rockstar Jegging from Old Navy size 10- These jeggings feel like soft, stretchy leggings. The "step hem" is a raw cut off hemline that is shorter in the front. I love the step hem look and even tried cutting my own on an old pair of jeans once... Suffice it to say that was not my finest moment. Save yourself the rage (it looked like it would be so easy!!!!) and get yours at Old Navy. *Leopard belt from LOFT 4. The Ole Trusty Boot Cut Mid Rise from American Eagle size 10- My husband loves these jeans but said my sunglasses looked like they belonged to a costume from the 80's. There he goes again demonstrating his lack of ability to recognize a show-stopping statement piece when it smacks him right in the face. Do I look surprised? On that note, I do not care what the millennials say about bootcut jeans either. A baby boot cut, a wide leg, and a bell bottom jean will just NEVER go out of style, so don't trash your champion boot cuts. Rock those babies with your fave wide belt and make no apologies for loving what you love. I've owned a pair of American Eagle bootcut jeans since high school, gone up a size or two, but I will never retire the look. And they look great with tennis shoes! #sorrynotsorry And finally, my best jeans advice is to not be afraid to try something new. You truly never know until you try. And most importantly, rock the jeans that you feel best in, the ones you feel like a million bucks in. You deserve to feel great! #sorrynotsorry
